Welcome to Happy Hours Pre-School, a nurturing and inspiring setting for children aged three to four years. We provide a warm, friendly environment where every child is encouraged to feel safe, valued and excited about learning. Our days are carefully structured to balance play, exploration and gentle routine, helping children to build confidence, independence and a love of discovery from the very start of their educational journey.
Who We Are
Happy Hours Pre-School is proud to be part of Early Explorers Childcare Ltd, owned by Danielle Wrightson, who holds a degree in Early Childhood Studies from University of Chichester and brings over twelve years of experience in the childcare sector. The Pre School is led by Manager Charlie Phoon, a qualified Early Years Teacher (EYTS) with extensive experience across early years settings and a strong passion for inclusive child development. She is supported by SENDCo Debbie Lafferty, a highly experienced teacher specialising in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, and Deputy Manager Linzi Mann, who brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for creating engaging learning opportunities. Together, our team is dedicated to ensuring every child receives tailored support to reach their full potential.
Where to find us
We are located in the heart of Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, right in the town centre and just a short distance from the sea. Our wonderful coastal setting provides a beautiful backdrop for learning and exploration, with opportunities to enjoy the local community and environment as part of the children’s wider experiences.
Learning at Happy Hours
At Happy Hours Pre-School, learning is purposeful, playful and carefully planned around each child’s interests and stage of development. Through our key worker approach, every child has a dedicated member of staff who monitors their progress, maintains an individual learning journal and works closely with parents to ensure consistency between home and setting. Our daily routine includes key group time, shared activities, free play and engaging STEM sessions, all designed to support communication, creativity, problem-solving and social development in a stimulating yet secure environment.

The wellbeing of our children is at the centre of everything we do. Our qualified and experienced team creates a calm, supportive atmosphere where children feel confident to express themselves and build positive relationships. With strong expertise in early years education and SEND support, we ensure that each child receives the care, encouragement and understanding they need to thrive emotionally, socially and academically.
